Tali Harel Even
Bedtime
In the "BEDTIME" series, artist Tali Harel Even follows her two daughters Alma Even and Teva Harel in a place that is a destination of dreams, sexuality and intimacy. So much existentially occurs in this place that it carries a lot of weight in many forms of art - the bed. This is where the conscious goes into a coma and the subconscious breaks out.
The camera lens is not ashamed to approach and penetrate the girls' personal space which
leaves them exposed in their most vulnerable moments.
A complex relationship is formed between the subject-the camera and the photographer/mother. The photographs were taken in the girls' beds-their personal space and in hotel beds - borrowed spaces. The question arises as to whether intimacy is maintained in the exit from personal space, or if in this impermanence there is room for intimacy?
Artist Tali Harel Even approaches her daughters who look at the camera with a conscious/unconscious realization of the viewer's invasion of their privacy. Their tempting/childish look blurs the boundary between what is a girl and a woman, a look between the artist and her daughters as they gaze at her.
